Climate justice for all

The picture shows many feet on a road where someone wrote "climate crises = human rights crisis".

People with disabilities are one of the groups most affected by the effects of the climate crisis, but are often excluded from climate action. The project ”Climate Justice for All”, which will start in January 2025 and run for three years, aims to change this. The project is funded by the Swedish Inheritance Fund and is run in collaboration with the Swedish Association of the Deaf (SDUF), Fridays for Future, Fältbiologerna and Live Green.

The project will have a special focus on young deaf and hard of hearing people. The goals are to increase interest in climate issues among the target group and to increase accessibility in the climate movement. Five deaf ambassadors will be trained and become role models who spread knowledge about climate justice. The project also includes workshops, webinars and the creation of climate clubs for young people in the disability rights movement. With a sustainable approach and a strong focus on collaboration, the participating organisations hope to create long-lasting change, where persons with disabilities have a natural place in the climate movement.
