H\u00e4r kommer en h\u00e4lsning fr\u00e5n v\u00e5r partnerorganisation Sri Lanka Central Federation of the Deaf (SLCFD):<\/strong><\/p>

K\u00e4ra MyRight,<\/p>

Vi skriver f\u00f6r att informera om v\u00e5ra framg\u00e5ngar i arbetet f\u00f6r d\u00f6vas r\u00e4tt att ta k\u00f6rkort p\u00e5 Sri Lanka.<\/p>

Det har varit stora sv\u00e5righeter att f\u00e5 igenom detta trots att d\u00f6va ju har den kapacitet och kunskap som kr\u00e4vs. I \u00f6ver 20 \u00e5r har vi k\u00e4mpat f\u00f6r detta. Vi har st\u00f6tt p\u00e5 s\u00e5 m\u00e5nga sv\u00e5righeter och flera g\u00e5nger har \u00e4ndrade politiska beslut gjort att vi f\u00e5tt b\u00f6rja om fr\u00e5n b\u00f6rjan.<\/p>

Men nu har en milstolpe passerats.<\/p>

Ministern inom transport och motorv\u00e4g godk\u00e4nde tidigare i \u00e5r ett pilotprojekt i Gampaha-distriktet. Projektet innebar att Sri Lankas motortrafik-avdelning utf\u00e4rdade 40 k\u00f6rkort f\u00f6r d\u00f6va i distriktet och att ett informationsprogram f\u00f6r poliser genomf\u00f6rdes. N\u00e4r pr\u00f6voperioden p\u00e5 tre m\u00e5nader avslutades konstaterades att projektet varit framg\u00e5ngsrikt. Ingen hade brutit mot n\u00e5gra trafikregler under perioden.<\/p>

Efter det lyckade pilotprojektet i Gampaha-distriktet verkar det som att pilotprogrammet ska ut\u00f6kas till nationell niv\u00e5 och spridas \u00f6ver hela landet.<\/p>
