When disasters strike, people with disabilities are often the hardest hit - yet Swedish aid repeatedly fails to reach them. Only 0.2 per cent of Sweden's aid programmes via Sida have disability as their main issue. This is a reality that we want to change.
That's why MyRight is launching a new campaign highlighting how people with disabilities are left without information, protection and support when crises, wars or climate disasters occur. The aim is to raise awareness, influence decision-makers and gather support for aid that really reaches everyone - in practice.
Through the campaign, we also want to mobilise our membership, engage the public and strengthen the work for inclusive humanitarian aid. In December, we will release articles, films and calls to sign our petition.
