We know that Today, various forms of climate disasters such as heatwaves, floods and crop failures increase poverty and inequality. In many communities, people with disabilities are the hardest hit. Adapted evacuation plans and crisis preparedness are often lacking, leaving people with disabilities without support in times of crisis.
We want to that persons with disabilities are included and involved in the broad climate work so that no one is missed, no needs are forgotten. Today, this is done far too rarely. The issue is not just about disasters - everyone must also be included in the long-term climate work.
The project works to increase opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing young people who use sign language to get involved in Swedish climate justice organisations.
With more of us, we can do more. Everyone is needed.
